New theory on humanity!

The other night, I was watching the discovery channel, and saw this program that had a very interesting, yet disturbing theory about the origin or evolution of humanity as we know it today.
That theory states that the infamous "missing link" between apes, homosapines and mankind is but the mere genetic alteration of an apes DNA that gave origin to humanity. It basically talks about how many thousands years ago, some alien species came to primitive earth, and studied planet overall, its flora and fauna and remained here for some time.

As part of their experiment, they genetically altered the DNA of an homosapines, inserted the altered embrion on the female host, that later gave birth to the human species. This experiment was held on several females of that time to ensure that the species would prevail, and with line breeding they finally stabilized a "race" that later became us.... Human beings.

So, basically, we are the product of a genetically advance experiment, nothing but a mere artificial creation or an alteration of an ancient species. I find this interesting, yet hard to believe!

Balance between MMORPG's and Real life?

I have been debating if there is the possibility to reach a balance between MMORPG's and real life. Games like that are just too demanding, especially if you get involved in end game activities. How good or how bad is to get too much involved. And how much is too much? Once a week, all weekend locked up in your room or your game room? How much do we neglect real life friends, activities and such.

My approach on this, relies on the fact that MMORPG's are truly not for the casual gamer, nor for the part time gamer. These games are built in a way, that if you want to get the most out of them, you need to get deeply involved, thus hurting and damaging your real life. Still, we play those games for unexplainable reasons!

Is beauty in the eye of the beholder?

I have tried to be honest about the fact that some people are truly ugly. My question is whether people are really and naturally ugly, or it all a mater of personal taste? I cannot yet define this, but I am leaning to believe that people seek things similar to them, in the same way that there are people of collective and generally agreed beauty. Why do some people seem attractive to a large mass, and why do some people seem ugly to others?

After consulting with some friends, asking people here and there, we came with a conclusion that ugly people truly exist! Wether the level of ugliness on it own is yet to be defined, there are people who tend to seem much more less attractive than others.
